Scottsdale, Ariz. – May 8, 2006 – Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics®, the only physician-based laser aesthetic skin-care franchisor in the nation, has opened a second national training facility for physician franchisees, in Ahwatukee area of Phoenix, Ariz. This new location augments another training center in northeast Phoenix and accommodates the company’s rapidly expanding franchise base and high demand for training. Before new clinics open, Dermacare requires its franchise owners to complete intensive instruction in the safe and effective use of lasers, BOTOX Cosmetics® and dermal fillers. Instruction takes place over five consecutive days, eight to 10 hours daily. Training courses are held monthly, with anywhere from four to 20 physicians attending. The physicians, who visit from around the country, receive a mix of didactic instruction (written material and classroom lectures) and hands-on training with volunteers. This five-day course is just one segment of Dermacare’s comprehensive three-part training program that all franchisees must successfully complete before they can open for business. Each clinic offers 3D Skin Perfection, which includes FotoFacial™ for tone (reducing brown spots and sun damage); Laser Genesis to improve texture (mitigating redness, enlarged pores and other problems); and Laser Collagen Acceleration Titan™ (to firm up sagging skin and fine lines and improve related conditions). 3D delivers better results and greater convenience because of the synergy gained from combining the three treatments in one office visit. Other services include laser hair and vein removal, laser wrinkle and acne scar reduction, microdermabrasion, BLU-U acne light treatment and laser tattoo removal. “Our doctors leave here with certification in all Dermacare procedures and an excellent knowledge of the technology they and their staffs will work with,” said Amit I. Patel, M.D., the company’s medical director of corporate training, who oversees every session. “Integrity and reputation mean everything to a doctor and to us, and the rigorous training and certification process underscores the company’s devotion to safe and effective procedures. It gives our doctors an additional layer of comfort with our corporate philosophy.” Nationally certified representatives from Dermacare’s laser manufacturer, Cutera, and its other strategic partners also deliver instruction. Dermacare opened the second national training center because the company has contractual commitments for 140 new franchises nationwide and plans to open 500 additional clinics within three years. Physicians can invest in one or multiple geographically exclusive franchises with limited upfront costs. The new training center is located at Dermacare of Ahwatukee, 1345 East Chandler Blvd., Bldg. #1, Suite #105, in Phoenix. The other center is located at Dermacare of Northeast Phoenix, 10214 N. Tatum Blvd. Ste. B-300, in Phoenix. Dermacare also has several franchises in Arizona and in California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas.
